In a nutshell...

I can't believe this cutie is 8 weeks already! What a blur the past 2 months has been. It started off with Quinsie's birth. C-section #4 was the best yet. The actual procedure wasn't great but the recovery this time was a breeze. I wish they all would have gone so smoothly. Then came Thanksgiving, which was great. Then I had surgery to remove calcium build-up in my left shoulder and once again it was a breeze. I'm really starting to believe that I'm one tough cookie! I wasn't sure what to expect especially with a newborn but It went surprisingly well. I'm glad I decided to do it while the baby was still so little because it would have been a little harder trying to heft around a big baby. I'm glad that all that is over and knock on wood we're done with hospitals for a while and thank goodness we had so much help from family and friends who brought dinners and helped with all the girls. Especially after the shoulder surgery. It was really hard convincing my mom and sister to come stay with us and hold the baby for a couple days. I'm afraid when they went home she was a little spoiled and expected to be cuddled 24/7! Anyway thank you to everyone who helped. Especially Shelly who was here to help me with hairdo's for the dance performance the day after my surgery. Getting 3 girls ready for that is hectic enough with two hands so her help was definitely appreciated.
Then of course came Christmas. The girls were super excited for Santa to come this year and Hayden counted down every day without fail. They must have been pretty good all year because they all got everything they asked for. For the past few years we have given them Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve and they were excited to open them and get ready for bed. Hayden wanted to go to bed at around 5! She said she wasn't hungry and didn't need dinner but we made them wait till 9 and it still took a while for them to go to sleep. Then I was up feeding the baby at 2:30 and heard footsteps running around. I finally had to go close their door and threaten them if I heard it open Santa would take back all their stuff. It worked because we all slept in until 8 and then spent the rest of the day running around. We went to Salem and ate and did presents there and got to talk to my nephew Jordan who is on a mission in Boston. Then we ran back to Kamas and ate and did presents again. Then we came home and everyone crashed. It was a great day. I still can't believe it's all over. This year was really weird because I tried not to go out too much with the baby and so it just didn't feel really christmasy. I'll have to make up for it next year and shop twice as much!
Then came New Years. We are getting old I guess. Grandma Dixie came down and watched the girls and we went to dinner then went and hung out with a few friends and I think we were home by 12:30. Pretty mild compared to some years but I guess it was bound to happen sometime.
So this week we got back into our old routine. Everyone went back to school and I even started babysitting again (2 of the kids anyway).
I was a little nervous and wasn't sure how the last 2 months were going to go but in the end it turned out to be a pretty good way to close out 2009. For 2010 I'm not planning on any babies or surgeries or any appliances dying. We have the crappiest luck when it comes to appliances. I forgot to mention that while I was in the hospital having Quinsie my dryer died. We spent $150 and Greg replaced the motor and fan and then 3 weeks later it really died so I got a brand new used washer and dryer for Christmas (Woo Hoo). So this year my New Years resolution is to have a great year! I plan to enjoy my beautiful family and my wonderful life and count my blessings everyday! I hope everyone can do the same and we all live happily ever after!

3 weeks

A couple pics of our Quinsie just because she is now 3 weeks old and the cutest baby ever! I have a hard time not chewing her cheeks right off. Not great pictures but we rarely get out of our jammies these days. It's a good thing I have to take Chandler to preschool twice a week or we would never leave the house!

Hayden turned 6!

Well in all the chaos this last week trying to get back into the swing of things I didn't post that my Haydo P. Tado had a birthday on Thursday. She kinda got jipped this year with Quinsie coming so close to her birthday so we celebrated it a little early before the baby came. I knew there was no way we were going to have a party with a newborn in the house so she decided that she would like to go to Build A Bear and then have dinner at her favorite place, the Olive Garden. So we went to Salt Lake on the Sunday before the baby came and had a really nice time celebrating a little early.
Hayden is such a funny, smart, loving little girl. She has tons of energy and rarely stops moving. If she's going somewhere she's usually bouncing or twirling or dancing to make her journey a little more enjoyable. When she was really little she usually had a scowl on her face especially around strangers but these days it's hard to catch her without a smile, although sometimes it can be a little mischievous. She loves school and reading and can't wait to share with us what she learns everyday. She loves her sisters, especially her new baby Quinsie. Sometimes she can be a little too helpful with her but we can work on that. Hayden is definitely a one-of-a-kind girl and we wouldn't trade her for anything. We love you Tado!

She's here!

Well it's finally over! Little miss Quinsie Fritz is finally here! 6 pounds 5 ounces and 18 inches long. She is definitely the runt of our girls. Everyone is already in love with her as you can see from the pictures. She was just a little yellow so we got to come home with bili lights but other than that everyone is doing awesome!

Finally...

Something to blog about!
No. No new baby yet. That is next week. I thought I had better get up our Halloween pictures before Quincy gets here and takes over everything. We had a pretty good Halloween this year. First we had our annual Averett family Halloween get together which is always fun. We eat yummy soup and all the kids carve pumpkins and get a prize. During the week the girls all had fun parties at school and got to wear their costumes. Then Thursday the girls had their Halloween Spooktacular dance show. On Saturday we took the girls trick-or-treating. Saturday actually got off to a rough start. I had to run to Salem for the funeral of my cousins son. Funerals are always pretty depressing but especially when it's for a 20 year old kid. So I had to hurry home for the big night. We usually take the kids to the trunk-or-treat and they get tons of candy and we get to see pretty much everyone in town so there's really no use in going anywhere else to trick-or-treat. Well this year we never heard what time it started so we were just going to head out around the time it usually gets dark. Well Greg had to work and came home right as I was going to start to get everyone ready and he had fallen off something and landed on his shoulder and tweaked his leg and so we weren't sure exactly what was going to happen. I was trying to think of what to do with the kids so their night wasn't totally ruined in case we had to head to the ER and he laid down on a couple bags of ice. Thankfully after resting, icing, and ibuprofen....ing it turned out not to be too serious and we hurried to the trunk-or-treat only to find out we were too late and everyone was just heading home. Well of course this didn't go over well with the girls (especially the 8 year old) and we explained we were just going to have to trick-or-treat the old fashioned way! This didn't help calm anyone down but we stopped at a subdivision in town and they started going door to door and they were satisfied. Hayden even said she liked doing it the old fashioned way! I don't think they even went to 1/4 of the houses but once they started to see the candy pile up in their bags they were ready to go and make one final stop at Grandma Dixie's. She always makes homemade goodies for only special visitors and they had helped her make them earlier that day so they were anxious to get there. Greg's Aunt who is an EMT checked him out while we were there too and said he may have slightly separated his shoulder but that other than a bruised ego he was fine. Thank goodness because that's the last thing we needed a week before the baby comes.
So with all that excitement over and done we are getting ready to start a new adventure next tuesday. I'm excited but starting to get a little nervous. A million things are going through my head. My other girls were really good babies, what if this one cries all the time? It's getting to be RSV season and what about all the flu and H1N1 that is going on? I'm already a hermit, I'm never going to get out of the house now. It's really going to ruin Hayden's birthday and what about the holidays coming up? I just want to flash forward and get this next week over with. For some reason this pregnancy has lasted a lot longer that the others. I think when I have a healthy baby in my arms I can take a deep breath and worry about everything else later. I hope. Fingers crossed for us everyone!
